Sometimes. But it really depends largely on what you are bidding on. Many things are "Buy It Now" and the price is set. Often the price is very low, but you absolutely MUST look to see what the seller is charging for shipping and handling. Some gouge you! I sell on ebay, and I only charge actual shipping cost. Many people will also combine shipping if you've purchased more than one item from that seller.

If you are bidding on a collector's item it depends largely on how many other people want that item also, and the bidding will reflect that want, and the price could go much higher than the seller ever imagined. As a seller, I LOVE that! But I also buy, and (ugh!) I hate it from that side. :-)

When a "new" item becomes popular, the price goes down, because many sellers watch for hot items, stock up on them, and then get stuck with those items because everyone else did the same thing. That makes for a terrific buyer's market.

Ebay (like other on line shopping sites) can save you money buy having so much available which saves you money on gas... running around town looking for that item. Saves you time also, which many people put a value on.

All in all... I'd have to say, "yes" to your question. I shop there. And I'm one who looks for bargains... so that speaks for itself.

It depends on the item and condition of it. Everything I've bought on there has been very good quality for a better price then I could find in a store. I once bought a book for $6 including shipping, that regular price would have been over $30 for. The condition of the book was practically perfect. I always hunt for bargains on there, though.

Not really. What you save in prices, you pay in shipping. Plus, You can't guarantee you get a good product.

it does if you have the time. depends on what you want. everything is cheaper, but you just have to watch out for shipping fees. if you track bidding you can get a deal, if you just put in a number and leave you won't win or you'll pay too much

no, i think it injures the whole process. sellers wait for tippy top dollar and buyers dont have the face to face protection of a shop..its literally the wild west show.
