What was his campaign strategy when he admitted in his book that he was a heavy drug user was it that he thought it would come out in the open anyway so he would step up first and therefore make himself look as honest and honorable as Abe Lincoln the one he likes to compare himself to.

He's beating the media to the truth. Many people who are over 40 have used drugs. It's far less of an issue if a candidate just tells the truth and moves on. He said it was a mistake. What more is there? W pretended like it didn't exist thinking it wouldn't be a story. How very wrong he was.

He is honest and honorably. And please, in today's world, many people have been drug users at a time. Probably 80% of my high school does drugs. Plus he wanted to seem like a normal person. Not someone who tries to look perfect, but in reality just alienates voters away from him. He is 10 times better than our present president. Bush just lies about his past drug experiences, and about everything else. Not to mention Obama's 10 times smarter and more intelligent too. And i believe his name is Barack Obama.

It's spelled BaraCk Hussein OBama, not Osama. He's basically being honest about it before the media can ridicule him for using it in the past.

If he didn't tell about it up front the consevatives would have used it against him anyway. The republicans are such hippocrites. They didn't mind that Bush was a drunk and coke addict but god forbid anyone else actually admit to trying drugs.

You are pretty transparent-people are too smart to be influenced by your diatribe. Only the shallow judge a person by his name chosen not by him but by his parents. You must not be from Illinois-they judge him on the merits and his good character. That's why he was elected.

Well, if it's true, it is honest.

Better than old lying drunk / coke-head Bush any day of the week.
