The job requires professional dress, so should I also wear make-up or just go with a clean, bright face? How about accessories? How much make-up and how many accessories?

Studies have shown that women who wear a bit of makeup (not a lot), do better than those who don't wear anything at all.

But you do NOT have to wear makeup. It just helps that's all.

Try some eyeliner, a bit of mascara, lip balm, and light powder and some blush. That's it!!!

As for accessories - just a watch, don't wear perfume as it can be too strong for some people, and maybe a ring a the most, or small earrings.

If you need help, IM me.

I would say yes. A little make up doesn't hurt, and can make you feel more confident. By any means, DO NOT overdo it as that will make you look tacky and can give your potential employer a bad impression. Just a little something to make you look naturally refreshed is all I would recommend. Definitley some lip gloss, maybe lip stick if you feel it's appropriate. If you want to try some eye shadow, I'd go with a light color, nothing drastic. Mascara can really open up your eyes too. However , if wearing make up will make you feel more self concious, I would avoid it all together. The main point is to make yourself confident so you get the job. Good luck! :-)

As an attorney, I can tell you that most female professionals do wear some make-up to work these days. Just make sure to be age appropriate, but as a general rule--be sure to cover any blemishes and wear a little eyeliner (upper lid only) and some mascara. This makes your eyes pop which makes you look brighter, more alert. A little sophistication, including a nice suit, purse and shoes (pumps not stilettos) makes it appear that you're already a professional, in other words, someone they want to work with. As far as jewelry, keep it basic. DON'T mix gold and silver, commit to one or the other. If your hair is long, pull it back or up in a nice twist.

How about this....

of all the women I have interviewed and recommended we hire, I cannot recall whether they were or were not wearing makeup.

Dress professional. Look good (you know what I mean, brush your teeth, clean face, hair, etc...) and convince the manager you are the best for the job.

Its an audition. A chance to show off your skills, education and ability to contribute. I never placed any real credence in looks....I'm not after pretty, I'm after smart and capable. Chances are, so is your interviewer.

not too much accessories. just small earrings, maybe a necklace. I don't wear make up to interviews either , but I do wear a little tinted lip gloss but not to glossy, just so I don't look totally plain in the face. If you have tattoos cover them up. Good Luck

If you normally don't wear makeup, I would skip it.

Wear just stud earrings (no more than 2 pairs) and a watch. If it's more of a conservative firm that is. And wear money colors like gray, black, olive green, or khaki.

If it's more of a fashion or advertising type firm, then go with more overstated jewelry and lively colored clothing with style. And put on the war paint. I mean makeup.
