Listen, crazy lady, if you had a blunt instrument in your hand, I wouldn't be waiting around for you to say, "duck"!

One of the more exciting things which have happened recently at our home here in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A., is that we have had a large number of assorted ducks come and join the regular birds in our back yard for feeding time. So if you were to say "Duck!" anywhere near me, I would say "Yes, I know, aren't they beautiful? Here, give this to them!" (handing you four or five rolls from the restaurant)

Depends what is in your hand ...

If you looked like you were going to throw something at me, I would duck!

If you had a plate of Peking Duck, I would bite your hand off ... not literally, of course!

Or is that Cockney rhyming slang for something else? If it is, then I'd probably run!
