How come it seems like Amy Lee is the only member in Evanescence???
I mean, they DO have otha memberz, John LeCompt, Rocky Gray, Terry Balsamo, and Tim McCord. It wouldnt be Evanescence without dem, it just be a lonely Amy singing, wit no drumz or guitarz :(

I mean, why is it dat Amy gets all da attention??? Like, she is an awesome singer/songwritter, and i luv her music, but it just seems like the otha members dont... do anything???

example # 1. in interviewz, none of the other memberz talk. it alwayz Amy, sumtimes Ben, talks!

example# 2. In their music vids. Amy is alwayz the main part. they get smalls shots of the band playing but not much...

example # 3. in Mag. articles, they alwayz have a pic of Amy, and its alwayz about HER life and from her point of view.

does any1 feel like the band doesnt get enough credit?

I know what you mean. I always get annoyed when people ask me if Evanescence is my favorite singer. I reply with, "They're my favorite band. " I just think the band choose Amy to do all the interviews. They may not like to be in the limelight all to much. That's okay, though! I love them anyways!

Considering that the majority of those who buy music are guys in their teens and 20's, they will focus on the female lead singer unless she takes pains to keep the focus on the band. So when a group like Evanescence has a hit (and the video for 'Bring me back.." centers on her, well then, people are going to think she's the most important of the group or the spokesperson.
Yes, I totally agree with you, she (and most other female lead singer of a group) would be lost without her band mates.

They are probably comfortable without getting "credit" Not all people in bands want to be in the spotlight - a lot of people don't want to overly famous.

Most groups with a good looking female lead singer seem to have this same situation - the female is the focal point and gets all the attention. It's just how our society is.

She is the lead singer of Evanesence and the lead singers mostly get the attention, but she has the most plabicity too because of her abusive relationship so the reporters are focused on that in their articles.

That's how it was with No Doubt too. It sells to have a sexy front man, in this case it's a women. Twice as sexy. Wonder if she'll go solo like Gwen?

Because she's a lot better looking and more marketable than the rest of the band and the world is shallow.

That's just typical for any band. The lead vocalist is always the center of attention.

This is not a new phenomenon at all. Same thign happened w/ No Doubt, Blondie & is happening w/ the Yeah Yeah Yeahs now too.

Why? Simple; Attractive women = $$$.

every band chooses a front member, and it's generally the lead singer... when you hear Trent Reznor, what do you think of? who do you leave out?
