The construction of dams by far do the most behavior damage to salmon, interfering with the nature movement of water and limiting the routes of migration. Efforts have been put forth like that of the Columbia River Gorge in the pacific northwest of the U.S. to minimize this by designing Fish ports within the dam structure so that the fish may migrate upstream and also be counted. Second to this would have to be pollution where by the fish have to route around contaminated areas either obstructions or chemical contamination's.

Generally its building dams. The dams prevent the salmon from returning to their spawning site upstream. People have built "water ladders" around the dams, but still the dams hurt the Salmon much. Humans also mess up their habitat by pollution, changing the water temperature & so on.
