hi... this is not uncommon.
~Some guys need alot of stimulation before and during sex. Like telling how it feels, what you wan thim to feel like.... that sort of thing.
~Some men who have smaller sized penises, have a really hard time reaching ejaculation. A hand job until he is almost ready to ejaculate, then him entering so he can finish....
