There are very few actual rights that people have. Most things, like driving a car and using certain things, are privileges that have been granted the person.

The difference is that privileges are conditional, meaning that certain conditions must be met and maintained by the person in order to obtain and keep the privilege. Rights are something one has either by being born or having reached a certain age or status.

So rights are something that you automatically have, while privileges are something that you must gain to have.

A right become a privilige when it is abused and has to be controlled - unfortunately 'abuse' is relative to individual peoples governments.

Yeah - I think everyone has the 'right' to ice cream, as well as a home, entertainment, suitable clothing, sadly though the world just can't work that way yet.

There is no such thing as our right to anything. You have to achieve the right usually by hard work. A privilige is something you have been given without having achieved the right to it. That is why the 'inherited rich people' are called priviliged. They were given their wealth, they didn't earn the right to it.

a right is something that can´t, but is often, taken away, a privilege is something that can be taken away but usually isn`t.

you have right to it but you´ll need to be privileged to some extent if you want anything material in this world, unfortunately privileges aren´t jus handed out, you have to earn them.

When I didn't have it, (my pc) I felt like i had a right to it and felt wrongfully treated that I didn't. But since I have my pc, I feel it is a privelege to have and use... so... tough one!

I think the essentials, food shelter, love ,family, we want everybody to have that. so we want it to be a right. But as far as luxury goes, not everybody is willing to share that, since the resources are not unlimited... and then it is no longer a right.... but a privilege...

It is my right to punch you in the face. It is your privilige to allow me to hit you. (By the way, your pic makes you look like a Coon)
