Should there be more games between them? Especially between Detroit or Chicago and an eastern original 6 team.

I would have to say no. Since the realignment, the rivalries haven't been the same. In the 80s Montreal had their best games against Quebec. Maybe a Habs-Leafs game will be good to have more of, but the rest of the teams just don't have the hatred for each other that we grew up with. The Rangers big rivals are the Islanders and the Devils. The Leafs have the Senators. So do the Canadiens. Chicago is so far gone that no one wants to be their rival.

No, that "original 6" no longer has the same meaning. It's been 40 years and wouldn't mean anything to most fans.

Unfortunately no matter what you do to the schedule, someone is going to be unhappy. Personally I would like to see more games between geographic neighbors: Islanders-Rangers, Kings-Ducks, Panthers-Lightning and so forth. The problem with what I want is that ALREADY people are complaining (rightfully) so that they have little or NO chance to see certain teams that are on the other side of the country.

No. Other then the Red Wings, the other teams are not interesting to watch. There are better rivalries out there now such as, Calgary and Edmonton, Buffalo and Ottawa and the list goes on. The original concept of the original six had it's time and although yes, those teams are special ... it is time to let go of the concept. I am a Montreal fan, even I have to admit, they are just not what they use to be.

I say yes. It's too generic now. I'd like to see the Wings play The Maple Leafs more. As a Wings fan I get pretty darned tired of playing the Predators, win or lose.

I'd say no.
It's nice that they are the original 6. They will always be special, but just because they are the original 6 doesn't mean they should have more games schedualed.
But don't take this as I'm saying they are not special because they are.
