Is there a fee?

Or is it free?

I hit the net for you and this site should help you with your questions ... the one thing I know is that if it is court ordered the contesting-parent (father, usually) has to pay for it.

Hope this helps,

Jennifer

If you just want to know for your own enlightenment you can order one to do yourself. If you need one to establish paternity for legal reasons then you need to go through the court system. That ensures that the test is administered by a neutral 3rd party and that the DNA cannot be switched. They aren't free.

There is a website that the test costs 135.00 and if you live in the right state sometime these things can be covered by medicaid and if you go to court then the cost will be split between the two parents.

Sorry you have to pay for it, but its way cheap to go through Dept. of Social Service. Also if you don't mind making the girl look bad take her on Maury that is free.

Montel.
:-)
Seriously, talk to your doctor. He should be able to advise you. And yes, you will have to pay for it. BUT if it's court ordered, the other party may at least have to pay half.
