Check the concentration of your coolant. I remember as a teenager replacing a water pump and and refilling the cooling system with straight water till I could get some antfreeze. It didn't work at all, did nothing but boil over as soon as it got hot! Antifreeze raises the boiling point of your coolant (so it doesnt BOIL at operating temperature). Your coolant should be 50/50, 50% water and 50% antifreeze. If it isn't doesn't have the proper concentration it will boil over. Here is the tool you use to check the concentration: http://prestone.com/enlarged/index.php?product=prestoneAccessories0&name=Antifreeze/Coolant+Tester It is available at auto parts stores and most places that sell antifreeze. Now a days they sell pre-mixed antifreeze/coolant. If you refill your cooling system with pre-mix you do not add water.

Just so you know, if your concentartion is low it will boil over at a temperature lower than the temperature that your fan would kick in!

Hope that fixes it.

Since it overheats so quickly maybe the water pump is not working or the belt than spins the water pump broke. Look for a pulley on the engine with no belt. This is what the '92 Corolla water pump looks like: http://info.rockauto.com/Bosch/Detail.html?96044.JPG&96044_6.JPG

The electric fan, for one thing. As someone else stated, make sure it's turning on when you start the vehicle.

A faulty sensor could also be making your light come-on for no valid reason. If you are basing your opinion that the car is overheating due to the warning light, this could be it.

Have it checked again asap. You don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere!

Good Luck!!!

what about the electric fan? does it turn on? it should turn on around 180-195 degrees.
Have the fan tested, if it works, then it's probably a the fan switch, usually located in the radiator itself, or on the thermostat housing. they cost like $15.

the water pump.. or the cyclinder head gasket.. easy way to check it..

open your radiator cap.. and start the car without the cap.. look at the radiator is there any water pops out or spills when the car crank start.. if yes.. the head gasket need to be replaced

if all the hoses associated with the radiator have been replaced, you ran a dye throught the system( to check for leaks), get a compression ckeck to see if you have pressure in lines. if all else fails.. i herd 93 corrollas are alil better

Water pump would be the next guess, assuming radiator and termostat are good and replaced properly
