I recently seen a video called Its black Entertainment which in my opinion was just a tad bit bias but it gave african americans credit for creating pretty much every genre of music and i was just wondering what people thought.

believe it or not, most music genres do have their origins in black music. rock n roll was created by people like lil richard, chuck berry, buddy holly, jerry lee lewis, fats domino. i don't think that elvis created it, but he made it popular and acceptable for white america.

Elvis Presley, the first major mainstream rock star, stole his music from black people. Pioneers of rock n roll include Little Richard and Fats Domino.

R & R really did start with the slaves singing their blues as they tioled in the fields. Check out your local library and listen to some of the archives...you'll find it most interesting. And who cares where the "credit" comes from. I love my rock-n-roll. And if it's true that the blacks are responsible for it...then a big thank-you to them.
