example of single replacement

Cu+AgNO3-> Ag+Cu(NO3)2

this is single replacement bcoz in the reactant copper is alone but it joins nitrate in the product. In reactant Ag is with NO3 but in product Ag is alone. So, it's the metals dat become single in reactant & product but nonmetal is with metals in both reactant and product

example of double replacement

FeS + HCl ---> FeCl2 + H2S

in double replacement like this, Iron is wid Sulfur & H is wid Cl in the reactant. But, in product the metals and nonmetals exchange wid each other as Iron is wid Cl and H is wid S.

Good luck!! Hope I helped!!
