aww!!! im so sorry! I will pray for him.

I too recently got a hamster. (2 1/2 weeks ago) His name is Twinkie. He is a "robo" dwarf. I wouldnt put toliet papaer in there. but they LOVE toliet paper rolls (when empty of course).

-get ur money back from store! like everyone ahs said. and dont be discouraged about getting another one!!1

Are u a first time hamster/ small rodent owner?

If so here is what i suggest for ur next little guy:

Get a glass cage. return ur other one. i recently got one and i think Twinkie broke his leg cause the top didnt go on right and there was a gap.
get vitamin drops for your little guys water
does he have an excersie ball and wheel?
an igloo to hide in?
they looovve fruits (stay away from exotics like peahcs, plums, mango, etc.) and veggies (lettice, carrots yum!)

Dont scare the little guy. Leave him alone for about a day or two (meaning dont try and touch him. but still give him fresh water and food) let him smell u. he will nip but thats normal. wash ur hands with unsented soap!!!!!

sorry for ur loss. Everything will be better trust me! good luck.

Im not sure why he died. But it might'eve been the aspen bedding. most hamsters are not allergic to aspen some have allergies, and some has serius allergies which i think might eve been the death of your hammie. all shavings including aspen, cedar, pine beddings all cause respitory problems for the little guys from little to high. Im guessing he had a very allergic reaction to the bedding. Because everything seems fine. Anyways like evryone else has said i suggest you go back to the pet store and claim a new hammie.lol. But this ti8me buy him Care fresh bedding, it cost a little more then others. but its defenetly worth it. its 95% dustless etc...lol. But yeah its defenetly the best bedding out there!

I dont want to upset you but some pet stores do not have a vet checking their new stock of small animals and the result is stock that is sick and people buy these little critters as I did ( guinea pigs) and they bring these guys home and they die. I am currently having a petco store investigated because they are careless people out for your money and total disregard for the public. go to another store and before you get another hamster, ask the clerk if they have a vet on the premises.. be aware. I am so sorry !!!

I think she might have been sick when you bought her but here are some other ideas:

Was the toilet paper scented (chemicals!!!) or had something printed on it?

Did the hamster bite of pieces of the plastic cage?

Were there any other signs?

Please do never attempt to mate a hamster. There are literally hundreds of thousands of undesirable ones available in the international and in basic terms because of the fact somebody thinks that is cool to visual exhibit unit it does not warrant you the superb suited to make a team of animals go through. If this is the only reason your thinking approximately getting them then do no longer. Your needless to say no longer in charge adequate to cope with them. As i've got reported formerly; hamsters are not toys. they are not play issues on your leisure. they're animals and deserve an analogous appreciate as your cat or canines and in the experience that your keen to reproduce a hamster go forward and breed your cat or canines. Oh wait; it grew to become into in all probability neutered so as that it may no longer to stay away from a flood of undesirable animals into the international. do never ever ever ever ever attempt to reproduce an animal. you may go away that to the authorized experts. this is why they're authorized and due to this they're experts. because of the fact thay understand the thank you to cope with them and that they might locate properties for them formerly they have even been born. in case you haven't any longer even owned a hamster yet then you particularly shouldn't. And if the 1st difficulty your going to ask is approximately whether or no longer they're going to kill one yet another as quickly as they breed then you particularly could under no circumstances get one.

When I bought my hamster, he was also sick. He died 5 days later. When the pet store gave you the hamster, they should have gave you the 15 day health guarantee. Bring that with you when you go. Take the hamster, put him in a box or something, and tell them what happened. They will give you a new one for free. Thats what happened to me. It may have been sick or it was overwhelmed by all the moving. (pet store, car, new home) I'm sorry for your loss.

Cheers!☺

well it was probably heart failure from the stress of a new environment and new surroundings. Nothing you did wrong on your part. Unless you were really loud around the cage and flashed lights at it or something like that.

They like to shred things like toilet paper. It is possible that the little guy ingested some of it and it blocked his intestines. I am sorry for your loss.
