They only pretend like they feel it's unacceptable to say vile and despicable things about gays and blacks. When it suits their political purposes, they'll attack anybody. Liberals tend to use being gay as an insult (it must be the worst thing they can think of) and have no problem using racist attacks against black conservatives. Their hatred for Christians is just more icing on the bigotry cake.

its unacceptable to say vile things about anyone... save for the willingly ignorant. Though Christians, at many times, see fit to say vile things about homosexuals, jews, islamic people, the like. I'll admit negative comments have been directed at christians, but not as you picture it. Not for just being christian, its directed at those christians who willingly stay ignorant about others faiths, life choices, or states of mind that are neither immoral or wrong in any sence. It may be stated towards all christians, which is sad to be sure, but its due to the evangelical christians and the other ill informed ones getting the attention of the media.

well... I don't think it's acceptable to say vile and despicable things about anyone based on their faith, race or sexuality? now if a person happens to be a Christian and is also a vile person, I will call that person vile, but it has nothing to do with Christianity, even though sometimes people try to hide behind religion...

but, it's probably more "PC" due to the fact that it's a choice you're making to become a Christian and being black isn't a choice... and some think being gay isn't a choice (that one's still up in the air)...

most think you can criticize people for their choices, but it's wrong to criticize a person for things they have no control over...

It's not what you say, it's how and I'm sure most thinking, halfway compassionate people don't go out of their way to offend or insult most other human beings, however, speaking the truth about vile and despicable actions is always acceptable. The so called christians, give me the willies, true Christians don't tell me, they show me. A huge difference.

I'm a Christian and a liberal and I don't say vile or despicable things about either one unless they use Christ and their christianity to justify hate toward blacks, gays, feminists or liberals.

As a liberal Democrat for all my life I am sorry to say that I do have to agree with you. I think it is even worse for specifically Roman Catholics. Anti Catholic bigotry is celebrated by many in this country. This is one fault I am truly ashamed of that is truly a part of liberal America.

I appreciated the late Arthur Schlesinger's definition of a liberal: One who does not regard man as either beast or angel. A kind person, liberal or conservative, feels it is unacceptable to say vile and despicable things about ANYONE.

Christianity is a religion, not a way of life that is distinct to a particular group. Why should one social group find it necessary to belittle another one?

Because, quite simply, gays and blacks vote Democrat and Christians vote Republican.
