My friends and I were servers, bill collecters, shoeclerks and worse while we were in school, and we were just talking about how mean some people were to us.

No, I do not. While people work in menial jobs while starting their careers, older folks often take menial work to earn a few bucks in their retirement. Only people who have absolutely no class look down upon people who do menial work. People who do these jobs regardless of age deserve respect. There is dignity in all work.

NO!! only people with "menial" minds. I could go on but I would only get extremely abusive.! I have dug ditches, repaired aircraft, and taught school. I have found that integrity and paying your own way by any legal means a virtue. Those who spoke down to me wished that they hadn't..Raised 4 children, mostly by myself, and if not for doing some rotten jobs they would have starved. Not literally..Anyone who WORKS is a benefit to themselves and their community, no matter what they do.........My mother, deceased, worked as a waitress for near 70 years to support me, as a child, and my father, who was allergic to work of any kind......Your critics can kiss my butt.!!!!!!!!!!!

No of course not. Where would we be without people to do these jobs - not in a good place!

Nope. I don't care if it's the janitor or the police chief. I treat all people equally and I don't look down on people base on what they do. We are all human beings and should be treated equally ;)

Yes, it is like they see you in a certain uniform and they think that you can be treated like dirt. I do not think that people realize that you are a person under that uniform that has feelings and a temper.
