Yeah, I've tried taking melatonin, it helped me a little, but it gave me nightmares so I stopped taking it.

Ambien and Lunesta both cost around 90-100$ for a 30 day prescription. I have tried both. Ambien 10 mg is what I recommend. With Lunesta you have a TERRIBLE taste in your mouth the next day, and, if that's not enough Lunesta will also give you a pounding headache. Actually .50 mg xanax beats them both. No side effects. What ever you choose, it's just a tempory fix. Your body will adjust to Ambien and Lunesta quickly. Xanax takes a little longer for you to build up a tolerance.

First check out why you aren't sleeping. Problems, thinking too much, relationships, work etc. If you still want sleep aids, buy one of the store brand allergy meds, it has the exact same ingredients as over the counter sleep aids and for half the price. Ask any pharmacist and you'll be amazed.

I don't believe in prescription sleep aids because they are addictive and are just a band-aid. They don't get to the root of the problem. I see posts of $100/mo for these products, and I cured my insomnia for about the same price, but it's all natural and there are zero side-effects.

I really dont know. But have you considered taking something natural? Melatonin in what your brain produces to make you sleep. You can purchase Melatonin between $9-$15 canadian funds. It is safe, as well as much more safer to use than prescription aids, as Melatonin is non addictive.
