i need to find info on this to be able to print it out or send via email to help my friend in jail! I think the ramirez act is about where the defendant can plea down to where he won't have a strike against him, or something like that.

I could not get to the link of the second answer posted.

I found the US Court of Appeals ninth circuit ruling for Isaac Ramirez. This was a case of the violation of the 8th amendment and is somewhat related to California's 3 strikes law.
It merely states that the three strikes have to be serious and petty theft shoplifting cannot be converted to a felony as was done for the purpose of putting the man away for life.

defendent may not be sentenced to consecutive terms for a single act. go to : www. ramirez act. com and when the list comes up go down to people vs. ramirez it gives the act on there.
