One eyed snakes are harmless if treated kindly. Try petting it. If it doesn't spit on you right away, it's a good sign and you can move on to kissing it. If you ask nicely, it will promise not to spit in your mouth, though not all one eyed snakes are truthful. But no harm will come from that.
A more deadly species of concern is the trouser trout. Due to overpopulation of humans, this species is increasingly invading human domains.

why hide
what you have to do is face him face to face
this is the only thing he understands
and once you are face to face, be careful, sometimes he spits
and once you have him in your grasp, give him a good shacking for getting you all worked up like this
that will take care of him
