I lost my virginty just after Valentines Day 2007. I used protection each time, and thoguht nothing wrong at the time.
However, my period was due on this week and I am now in complete paranoia that I may be pregnant. I don't want to visit the doctor's as I am opiophobic. (Fear medical doctors experience of prescribing needed pain medications for patients)
And I don't feel that I could buy a pregnancy testing kit for fear of recognization.
Advice please.

It's hard to tell if you are pregnant, but if you aren't that late, I wouldn't worry yet! You can be late for a myriad of reasons such as stress, travel, illness, weight loss and weight gain, etc. If you aren't planning to go on the pill (which I HATE), I would suggest managing your fertility and reading the book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. You can buy it on Amazon for 16 bucks.

Ok your period might be late because you are stressed or you just had sex for the first time . a week is not enough to decide whether you are or not . and feeling paranoid about being pregnant could be the reason why your period is not here yet so try to relax and don't think you are pregnant . if you don't want to buy a test kit then over come your fear and go in and get checked . if u can't then go to a store that no one knows you buy it go their restroom and try it there you don't have to take it home or anything. but relax even if you are pregnant there are ways of dealing with it . but i hope not if you don't want to be. and if you used protection then you should be 80% safe it doesn't always protect . well did you know if you touch the condo m with lotion it will make microscopic holes and that could realse sperm , just tellin you if that is the situation .

You are leaving you self no sensible choices. Unfortunately condoms are not 100%. Also When I was a student, a wise old gynaecologist said to me " A woman of child-bearing age, who is sexually active and misses a period is assumed pregnant, unless you can prove otherwise!"

You can go into a chemist miles from home if you are that worried, but next step must be to do a test. If you continue to be concerned about your condition, you would have to go see a doctor.

My period has been absolutely crazy my entire life, untill i got on the pill. It can be late, early, not show up entirely, or sometimes im lucky enough to get two in one month!! By worrying about it, you might just make it later because of the stress. Try going to a grocery or drug store thats not in your neighborhood to buy a pregnancy test, no one will say anything. Most likley it will come up negative and ease your mind.

I would go and get a pregnancy test at a large grocery or pharmacy. If you are afraid of being recognized, then order one online from a pharmacy (Longs and all the big ones now will ship to your home for a price). Another alternative is to drive to a near by town or someplace outside your neighborhood to buy a home pregnancy test.

periods will sometimes be late by a couple of weeks sometimes due to stress. if there IS a chance, no matter how small, that u are pregnant, please get help from someone like a close friend u can trust and go with them to get a test. u can buy them many places and many ppl do. if u dont, it might be left off and get too late....if it was during february, then u should have shown signs of being pregnant already. i think ur ok....but ask ur doctor.

Since you had sex of course it is possible to be pregnant. Your late period could you being stressed.

I do believe though that if you think you are pregnant get your courage up and go to the doctors. Or planned parenthood, or the health dept.

Good LUck

Think of it this way...if you are pregnant you are going to have to see doctors anyway.

No contraception is 100% safe so get yourself checked out. Why not ask the guy to buy pregnancy test for you if you are scared to go?

1 calm down.
2 no need to think you are pregnant if you used protection like a condom. if u used only the pill, then go buy the test or have someone else buy it for you.
3 one week is not that much you know.... so calm down.

youll be suprised to know that its a mental thing. studies show that after most girls have sex for the first time, they subconciously think their period is late. youre probably not pregnant but you should maybe take a test or go to a doctor. better safe than sorry.
