This morning when I woke up and went to the bathroom I noticed some pink like discharge on my panty liner and more throughout the day. My pregnancy books say this is "bloody show" what has been you experience with this and when if any did you start getting contractions? I feel some pressure but no real contractions yet. I am 39 weeks and 1 day pregnant! Thanks!

That happened to me the day before my son was born. If you're unsure, go on the the hospital for an exam, they'll let you know what's happening.
Chances are though, if this is your first baby, that it'll be a day or two for sure, maybe up to a week. Have a nice hot bath and take a walk and that should bring it on, if it doesn't, relax a while, baby isn't quite ready yet.
Enjoy your last night of sleep for a while ;)
Good luck and congratulations.

When pregnant with my daughter, I had bloody show one night and went into labor in the middle of the next night. So, it took a little more than 24 hours for me to start into labor. It's different for every woman and every pregnancy though. Make sure that you have your bags all packed and ready to go just in case. Congrats and good luck. Come back & tell us how everything goes!!!

Just because you are experiencing your "bloody show" doesn't mean you'll go into labor right away. It kinda means that your body is preparing for having the baby, but it could be days or weeks before you go into labor. I when I was pregnant for the 2nd time with my now 10 month old son, I was just around the same gestation as you, but he was 2 weeks late.

Don't get anxious yet.

if you have had a show it can be hours, days of even weeks until you go into labour, it means that your cervix is beginnihg to open up (dilate) so it means labour is close - how close ?? you just don't know!
most people advise than when you get a show you more than likely will go into labour within a week .
good luck and congrats

You are so close its not even funny. You should have your baby in a day or two. With my second child after the plug came she was here 45 mins. later. HAve your bags ready. GOOD LUCK

I would call your doctor or go to see him/her. It could be that the time is almost here but you want to make sure there are no problems (like an infection). Good luck!
