Usually, when a test is done and read properly, the faint line is a positive. If the test is read hours after it is intended, you can get what is called an evaporation line (though this has never happened to me personally).
So, if a faint line pops up during the time allotted and the control line comes up too, the line (no matter how faint) is a positive. If bleeding occurs after that, it's more likely to be an early miscarriage than a false positive

To even get a faint pink line, you must have the hormone in your urine, so there are no false positives. When I first tested with this pregnancy, it was so faint I wasnt sure if I was seeing things. I wasnt! I did read that if you spill urine into the windo area accidentally, the line can appear from being wet, but its highly unlikely.
The best way to make sure you dont get a line show from urine spill onto the area is to do the kind you dip into the urine, like doctors offices do. Theyre also cheaper! Available at dollar stores usually.

I'm never taken a pregancy test where a faint line wasn't positive.

I took a lot of pregnancy test with my second child and the second line was always faint.. never had a pregnancy test come up as a faint line and be negitive.

I had the same thing but i took another testl, and this time it came out neg but i still havnt started im now almost 2 months late for my period so i really dont know why it shows faint lines maybe someone can help me!!!

when i took my test it had a clear bold line and a faint line so it appeared negative but i still had a feeling so i let it sit for a little while longer came back and both lines were now bold, im currently 35 weeks and 5 day

I have no idea but it happened to me twice. I took the first one and one line was darker the then other so I took another one this time I used a digital one and it said pregnant but when I pulled the little strip out the lines were the same as the first!!!!

A faint line is still a positive, so if you got one..that means you are pregnant.
