I do not want to go to the Carribean ... have yet to hear from someone who loved their Carribean vacation ... Hawaii is nice I guess, but is so expensive, and seems sort of cliche yeah? Any other ideas for nice honeymoon spots in tropical locations?

If you are looking for tropical locations, I would say the bahamas.
But if it's July, it might be too hot for the tropics. You could spend a vacation at a local beach someplace in the United States. The US has lots of great beaches:
Ocean city, MD
VA beach, VA
Myrtle beach, SC
Atlantic city, NJ
Cape May, NJ
Rehoboth beach, DE
Nags head, NC
or any beach in Florida.

Seeing as you want tropical, it narrows the list down.

Try Fiji or Costa Rica. No matter what Hawaii is the best, just try a different island. There are some wonderful deals on the less traveled Islands.

Cost shouldn't be a matter as it will be expensive wherever you go during the summer. Sounds like you are on the east coast. How about the Florida Keys?

The best honeymoon location (besides Hawaii) would be a trip to Europe. Somewhere romantic like Venice, Rome or Paris.

Bermuda.

Technically it's not in the Caribbean and it's fabulous regardless. A bit expensive, but worth every penny.

I had some friends go to Vanuatu in Fiji during the summer and they absolutely loved it. Very romantic and isolated and beautiful.
