is this species of fish ever kept in home tanks? i seen some in mexico and one shot a pellet of watter and extinguished a cigarette.

i actually have a neighbor with two archer fish there a very interesting species and they can defiantly be house kept but they are rare and must be bought from large pet stores most average stores don't go around selling archer fish

Sometimes, but they're not that common to find. They require a brackish tank, so they usually are only found in larger, privately-owned pets stoes. yes you can put them in a fish tank they are called the spitting fish they spit out the water to hit the inscets and the incsects fall in the water and that is where there the name ardher comes from

of course! they are awesome fish but must be kept in a fairly large tank due to their large size.if you wanna get one, make sure the tank is covered cuz they can JUMP!

Yes, archers are kept in home aquaria. They aren't real common, but you can get them in larger pet shops and online.
