A debit card is directly tied to your bank account, (checking or savings). You use the card pretty much like you do a credit card except the money is immediately deducted from your checking or savings. To get one, you open an account at a bank.

PayPal also offers a debit card. You would have to have money in your PayPal account to use it. (PayPal also has a Visa card that is like any other Visa credit card.)

With Debit cards, if you only have $10 in your account and you go to use your debit card for an item that costs $25, it won't go through because you don't have enough money to pay for it in your checking or savings.

A debit card looks like a credit card with the Visa Logo, but they will take away the amount that you purchased from your checking account. There is no such thing as a paypal card. You just go to any bank and sign up for one. A debit card comes with all sorts of checking accounts.

You would need a bank account, specifically a checking account. How it works is unlike a a credit card, when you use it, money is taken from your bank account right away. So if you don't have money in your account, you can't use your debit card.

You must be 18 years of age. Debit Cards are issued by your bank, so you would need to have a checking account with a bank. 95% of banks require you to be 18, as that is the age to be considered a legal adult (unless you are emancipated).
