Help! My sister in law is smoking pot with her 3 yr old on her knee, and I found a mirror with cocaine residue and a razor in the bathroom after her older son asked me to help him find toilet paper. I called child protection and they said I have to make a police report but this process could take weeks to lead up to and investigation, is there anything else I can do? We live in Illinois if that helps.

I did call the police but they said it takes time and that DSCF cannot get involved yet, meanwhile these children are in that home and she won't let any of the family in. Even her own Husband.

Go to www.ilgov.gov, they have an 800 number for the governors office, one of his staff will put you in touch with the head of dcfs office in Chicago, tell them your problem and you will get immediate results!! If you call the 800 hot line for child abuse they have to respond within 24 hours!!

1) Call back child protective services and demand action.

2) Call your local politician to complain that the government is dropping the ball.

3) Call the police.
