Saying "lawyers" is too broad a category.

Someone working their first few years in a law firm is going to have a very different life than someone (equally experienced) working at a corporate legal department, or a non-profit group, or working for the government. Each environment is different.

But as a whole, lawyers (like doctors or therapists) tend to be under a lot of pressure because their job entails other people depending on them on a daily basis. And whether you're working 40 hours a week or 80 hours a week, having other people constantly looking to you for answers is draining.

This is a very general question. It all depends on the individual and their work-habits. Generally, most lawyers are happy due to their above-average salaries and admirable position in society. On the other hand, they may work long hours and feel a lot of job-related stress.
