Christianity is not America's religion. We are very diverse here and have people from all backgrounds and religions. Many of us are Christian, yes, but dont look down on Christians as a whole, for the shortcomings of a few. This occurs all over the world. You cannot possibly say that every person in every country follows the guidelines and values of their relgion perfectly, EXCEPT americans. Falling short is something that all humans do, not just "christian" americans.

Edit: The Bible does not preach against drinking. It is ok in moderation. And yes, the Bible preaches against fornication, or sex before marriage. There are still many people out there who hold very true to their values. BUT... In TRUE Christianity, if you read the new testament, Chritians were freed of the laws laid down in old testament times. People use their deeds to feel superior, and Jesus wanted to make it clear to us that it is not our deeds that get us into heaven, it is our hearts, and only HE can truly know us. Yes, there are very good values laid down in the Bible, but the Bible also says not to judge. Its easy to judge a person based on one comment or action, but that does not determine their true heart and value. Jesus says it is wrong to do that, and that all of us are sinful. Its easy to say that drinking and smoking are wrong, but what about being overweight, or underweight? Those things are just as harmful, if not more. What about working TOO hard, to the point that it breaks your body down? There are so many gray areas that there is no way to draw a definite line. That is why our hearts save us, not our actions. There are so many ways to define "right" and "wrong" that no human could possibly lay down a definitive guide on how to be a proper Christian. The most we can do is our best, and try to live by his will. I do agree that there are many people out there just going through the motions, but I also think there are a lot worse things to do besides just being superficial.

First off, America has no religion. We are a free country and believe what we want to, and do what we enjoy doing. Basically, the only thing you can't so is commit a crime. Sex and some drugs aren't illegal. Although, America should pay closer attention to what they do so they don't end up screwing up their own lives.

The west is not like muslim countries. For you, your religion is part of your culture and everything. Most Americans are NOT Christians, in fact most people that you in muslim countries think of as living in "Christian" countries are not Christians. Our society is completey different from yours. There is probably only one country on earth that could be considered a christian country, pitcairn island.

EDIT: Oops, what possible reason would I have for thinking someone who refers to herself as "The Egyptian" was a muslim? 1,000 pardons.

EDIT 2: I mean 90% of egyptians are muslims......

well there may be people like that, but im from America, and I know many people who are devout practicers of religions. That may not be saying much, but dont make a stereotype that americans are not religious.

There are people who live their religion and those who don't. It's like that all over the world.

I think the reason is that people in America no longer pay any attention to the niceties of language, and consequently are incapable of anything but the most shallow thought.
