Actually, it is quite good form, if the person likes flowers. Oddly enough, some people who work in flower shops never have someone think to give them any (I read that from someone's response to another question a month or so back).

Flowers are lovely whoever receives them unless of course you intend to give them to my mother, she hates receiving flowers, prefers to see them growing, but I would love to receive flowers even if I worked in a flower shop.

a very original thought, i bet you no one ever buys them flowers, try to get them some plastic ones i heard they last longer
