I have Mirena, and I love it. It did hurt a little when it was inserted, and I had cramps for a couple days (no worse than regular menstrual cramps). I spotted briefly then, and had one light period. I haven't had another period since. I don't even notice it anymore either. If you are looking for a very effective birth control that is reversible and doesn't require you to remember anything, this is a good option. Check the website. It is really informative, and will give you a lot to consider.

I got my Mirena last April. It was excrutiating pain for the insertion and I went home and cried for hours....I don't know how I even managed to drive myself home but thankfully it was only a 5 minute drive. After that it got better but I had cramping for a few days. Now I don't even think about it. I was expecting spotting for a few months and hoping for no more periods after a year but I didn't have any spotting and have not had a period at all since the week I had it put in. It was a good decision overall for me but I worry about the pain of getting it out in another 4 years.

If you get one you should take a couple of painkillers BEFORE the procedure. The doctor gave me Advil afterwards when she saw how much I was suffering. It helped a bit. I will definately take some pills before I get it removed.

I have the Mirena IUD........I love it. I had no pain having it put in but many women have some cramping and pain. I feel fine I haven't had any side effects except off and on spotting the first few months. I don't have heavy painful periods anymore either.

They gyno will prepare you a potential of the thank you to learn that it somewhat is in place. Your sessions could get a sprint heavier than well-known with the gadget in place in spite of if it somewhat is a small value to pay for the understanding which you're secure. decide for it...and good success!
