I would say it would be a close call between the American and the Russian revolutions. They had a greater impact on the world as a whole. The French revolution did influence some parts of the world but had no major direct impact.

The French Revolution was many things the American Revolution was not. Not only did it attempt to bring in a new type of government, but it also worked to change the social structure of the entire country. It did, however, ultimately lead to much political turmoil for ages and in the scope of history, probably hasn't made much of an impact.

The American Revolution was not a social revolution but it led to the formation to what is now considered the most powerful country in the world. Government-wise, it was much of the same, with the same elites in control. The system they created, however, has been emulated all over the world and the U.S. gradually became a world player while France seemed to decreased.

The French Revolution led to a reactionary clamp on society and politics that didn't follow the American Revolution. It also contributed to the much of the warfare in Europe for the next hundred years. It wasn't until WW1 that the American influence showed up in peace accords.

the French Revolution had the greatest effect on government because that was the revolution that showed the world that the monarchies could be overthrown and that a nobility is not necessary for a country to succeed....then the American revolution used the french revolution as an example and they succeeded quite well.
