he is called fifty cents because his favorite bubblegum that he used to buy as a child only costed fifty cents. later on in his life, he was known to have shot the convience store clerk because he was out of his favorite type of bubblegum. also, the reason why he has so many silver teeth is because of all the cavities he got from eating too much bubblegum. i know fifty personally by the way.
