i bought a neff t1323xo t/control hob and i find that it has 5 terminals instead of the standard terminals pos/neg/erth.it also has 3 combinations with various straps as to how to connect the terninals.can anyone help

If you are in the UK, you are connecting to 240 volts. In the handbook it shows the different combinations of links for different voltage/phase combinations. I THINK there are 3 live terminals linked and 2 neutral terminals linked, but if you are not sure or don't understand you will have to get an electrician.

It's got 5 terminals to allow for wiring to 3-phase.

If you don't even know that it's connected to AC not DC, then you really need to get someone in who can tell the difference.

Your getting into industrial electricity. Get an electrician to hook this up. I think this may be past your ability. The straps are there to handle different input voltages.
