Hey guys,
What's the best procedure for starting a diesel engine after it has been sitting for at least 2 years? This is a Case International tractor, model 325 with a 3 cyl engine. It has been stored in a shed.
Thanks, George

Charge the battery, change the fuel filters (be sure to fill the new filters with fresh, clean fuel before installing them) and possibly fill the tank with fresh fuel. Then prime the fuel system by cracking the injector lines loose and cranking the engine over untill you get fuel spitting out of the injector lines. Tighten the injector lines and give it a go

1st and foremost you should drain and replace the oil & fuel before anything eles is done ,,,, next be sure to check the hose's and seals throughout for dry-rot,,, after all is said and done and you have the battery charged up ,,,,, you may need some starting fluid to help it start ,,,be sure everything is cleared out of the way and it's in neutral, then give the key a turn and see what happens ,, good luck
