I mean, if you can predict they are going to be a surprise, then it's not really a surprise, is it?

And the commentators will talk about it ad nauseum

Well, I guess it's all part of the fun.

People will issue 7 sets of predictions on upsets in the NCAA tournament, and then, when one of them does happen, they'll brag about how they knew it all along...

Predictions (or more specifically, the predicting of upsets) really have nothing to do with knowledge or understanding...they're just hunches.... when someone is right about an upset prediction, they love to brag about it...but most of the time, they're wrong, but their false predictions are forgotten within a day.

I don't watch much pre-game stuff...I just watch the games... I don't need anyone telling me that the key to a victory is going to be winning the game inside the paint, or hitting from long range, or winning the battle on the boards... just let me watch the game, I'm perfectly capable of seeing what's going on out there.

I've run an NCAA tournament pool for five years and nothing surprises me. Certain upsets annoy me, and keep me out of the money, but almost nothing can truly surpirse.
