Dont ask why this popped into my head but the word "far-fig-newton" (no clue how to spell it so I spelt it fonetically) has been bugging me all day long. I know its from a kid movie or show I used to watch but I cant figure it out. I think it was used as a insult but i could be completely wrong. Does this word sound familiar to anyone? What is it from?

The car was a "pharfegnugan" (lol, I think I'm close on the spelling but not sure), a version of the Volkswagon if I remember correctly. The ads were annoying, that silly name was every where!!

OMG! It's from and episode of Gilmore Girls, the first season. Way back when Lor, Rory, and Max went to a town meeting and brought dinner. Taylor told them they could not eat at the meeting and Lorelei said, "These are not fries, they're farfignewtons!"

Its the feeling you're supposed to get from driving a VW. They used it in their commercials for years. Not sure how to spell it either. I think its a real German expression.

That does sound really familiar but not because of the vw commercials. I think it is from an old show, but now I can't think of what it's from. Now that's going to bug me too!

It's from the old Volkwagen commercials and was their tag line. It's morphed into a different string of similars, i.e., "Farfrompoopin" and "F ckingroovin" and so on.

I know that Rose used to say it all the time on Golden Girls, but that's all I got. She used to say all kinds of crazy stuff.

Isn't it an old Volkswagon slogan?
