Remember there are 2 networks here - WAN and LAN. L for local, which is the computer to the hubb, or modem, then WAN, or wide area network, which is the hub or modem to the internet. The problerm here is the WAN part, we need more info to be able to help you, like make of router, internet provider, Has it ever worked before, etc? PM me for more help, thunderbird_ii_uk

I think you just accessed the Internet if you managed to get to Yahoo answers ;)
If the problem is only with Internet Explorer (which I believe is) simply goto (in Internet Explorer):
File | Work Offline (untick the option)

is there a funny icon bottom right of the internet explorer window thats says 'offline' when you hover over it?

refresh your router if that does not work check phone line and micro filter's unplug them then-plug them back in if still not working check your IPA address and run diagnostics on system but i think its your phone cable
