Only way we can easily change the DNA in a plant is through breeding. By having 2 different parents, the offspring with have the DNA representing the the parents. Read up on hybridization.

Unless you have access to radiation causing mutations or some pretty heavy duty chemcials that affect the DNA, us common folk have to use breeding.

There are some mutations caused by exposure to different chemicals. There is a pathogen that affects irises that when daylilies are exposed causes them to go from dipoid to tetraploid. Colchium is a bulb, too that when dried and ground and dusted on plants will cause mutation. I think mutations will happen in plant cloning as well, which would be a change in the DNA.
