If so, how long after the C section does this happen?

Absolutely! The delivery of the placenta is what causes you to begin producing milk. It's a hormonally driven process at first, but soon becomes supply and demand. A c/s mom will probably get her milk in right around the same time as any other mom, 3-5 days postpartum, as long as she is nursing frequently.

Yes. I had a C-Section and my colostrum was in immediately and 4 days later my milk came in. And for the average woman who is giving birth for the frst time, her milk should come in by 5 days. So giving birth via C-Section doesn't change anything.

Yes, I had a C-section and I was able to breastfeed. Usually, it takes 3-4 days for your milk to come in (no matter how you give birth.) Until then, your body produces a special milk called colostrum, which is really healthy for your baby.

Yep..I have had 2 c-sections. With my 1st c-section my milk came in on the 2nd day. With my 2nd c-section it came in 3 days later. Just because you have a c-section doesn't mean that you don't produce milk, your body knows. I was able to breastfeed them in recovery room.

Yes, the milk production has nothing to do with the birth method. Milk production will continue just like it would after a vaginal birth. I suggest you speak with your doctor or a nurse if you still have concerns. Good luck!

Yes, milk production is not determined by the method of child birth. It is a natural occurrence during pregnancy.

She will, but the timing depens on the woman. Sometimes it comes in the same day and other times it takes a couple of days
