I love that book!! Remember the part where they talk about the population always being at war just because always being at war keeps the masses loyal and on the govt.'s side?
Scary..
How about the names of the different agencies that actually did the things opposite of their names like the "Ministry of Truth"?
"Patriot Act" anyone?
"Clear Skies" initative
"No Child left Behind"
The list goes on....
Very scary

No. Because 1984 was written in 1948. Orwell just inverted the last numbers in the year.
