Previously having owned & operated a comics store, I can promise you that a lot of first issues are bought for speculative purposes by people who have NO intention ofbuying #2, let alone READING #1. This makes it difficult for a store's buyer to accurately place orders for #s 2 &3.
Ask your store to set you up with their reserve system. When we did this, we always pulled our reserves BEFORE we opened or re-opened to the public. Occasionally we ran out of issues, but our reserves were ALWAYS taken care of first. With Marvel's current policy of not over-printing for reorders, this is pretty much mandatory, unless you don't mind holes in your collection.
