It the largest 3Way is 100 W, can I just get a 100 W bulb and not mess with three way?

You can put in just a 100w bulb and not the 3way bulb without any problems. The only thing that will happen is you will have 3 off and one on places on your switch. If that is not a problem for you then I'd say go for it. Sometimes that is better than having one spot burnt out on your 3way bulb and two that still works, of course they aren't the ones you want to use.
(may have that wrong - may be 3 on and 1 off)

Yeah you can use a regular bulb, but when you switch it off you will have to do it twice for it to actually go off.

No I tried a 100 watt regular blub and the lamp went out. Get a three way.

No, the three way is an option so that you can save energy with an ..ex.35,50,70 watt bulb.
