well... actually do it.

"4to 3rd power" = 4^3 = 4*4*4 = 64
"3 to the 2nd power" = 3^2 = 3*3 = 9
"2 to the 2nd power " = 2^2 = 2*2 = 4

so...
(64/9) - 4 =

Just go ahead and solve for the numbers.

4 to the 3rd power is actually 4*4*4 or 64. Notice the power is simply how many times it is multiplied against itself.

3 to the 2nd power is actuall 3*3 or 9.

You should see the pattern now.

Your problem would become, once you have done the substitutions.

(64/9)-4..

4 to the 3rd power divided by 3 to the 2nd power minus 2 to the 2nd power?

First look at the 3 to the 2nd power and 2 to the 2nd power they both have the same superscript, which means it cancels out.
So, the problem would be 4 to the 3rd power divided by 3 minus 2.
So, the answer is ((4x4x4) / 3) - 2 =

((4x4x4=64) / 3 ) - 2 =
64 / 3 = 21.333 - 2 = 19.333 or 19

I am not sure what the question is. Will take a guess and say:-

4^(3) / 3² - 2² = 64 / 9 - 4
= 64 / 9 - 36 / 9
= 28 / 9 = 3 (1/9)

4 to the 3rd power = 4x4x4 = 64
3 to the 2nd power = 3x3 = 9
2 to the 2nd power = 2x2 = 4
64 / 9 = 7.1
7.1 - 4 = 3.1

all that means is 4x4x4, 4x4=16, 16x4=64
3 to the 2nd is 3 squared = 9

so you have (64/9)-4
64/9 reduces to 7+1/9
so after you subtract your 4 you have 3+1/9

Try expanding it: 4^3 = 4*4*4 and 3^2 = 3*3. Once you multiply everything out, then the rest is simple arithmatic.
