AVG and SuperAntiSpyware.

But remember that even if you've cleaned this one out, Microsoft Windows is still vulnerable!

* Make sure you always run up-to-date anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.
* Always install all Microsoft security updates as soon as they come out.
* Ensure you have a properly configured firewall.
* Never use Internet Explorer (use Firefox instead) or MSN Messenger (Use GAIM or Trillian).
* Never download anything you don't understand.
* Never click on any ad banners.
* Never use any "P2P" file sharing programs.
* Consider the upgrade to Linux or Mac OS X to be free of adware / spyware / trojans

No scan or firewall will stop/find all! Everyday losers introduce new ones from all over the world! How should you totally stop the sea from coming into your house? If nature wants in, Nature will come in?

All the losers view each others code and improve on it. Solution code cannot be written until the virus is known, .i.e. on your computer!

That is why, sooner or later, we wipe the hard drive and do a clean, new install of the operating system. All software and drivers.

Too, that is another reason that you NEVER store your data on the same drive with your operating system.

Do not pay to have your system cleaned! That is dumb! Do it yourself!

First, buy a second drive for your data and ALWAYS save write your data on that drive. Then once every three months or so write the data on that drive to a DVD. That is your back up!

To clean your system: shut your computer off.
Open the case and disconnect the power cable from the drive that you write your data to.
Disconnect your computer from the cable modem (Internet)

Stick your windows CD into the dvd/cd drive and start your system. READ THE SCREEN!

Select NEW INSTALL, delete all partitions.
Create 2 new partitions, one of them = 20GB.
Format in NTFS, complete installation.

Install motherboard drivers and utilities from motherboard CD. Install all other software and drivers. Install anti virus and firewall last.

Connect system to internet, go to www.microsoft.com - UPDATE - and let this site update your system! Always reboot when asked to do so. Do not try to rush your system, sometimes, while creating addressing, is may sit for an hour and you will think it is hung up. Not so, just leave it alone and be prepared to answer question about what you want! When all is done, reconnect your data drive power cable. This prevented you from accidentally selecting your data drive during the installation!

Go to all of your software hardware sites and install the latest versions/drivers for your system!

I personnally agree with you, I had problems with them too.
I use AVG it works ok but like any virus program it wont catch them all.. think of any of them like flu shots -- keeps you mostlyl safe.

ps - they even have a free version but they also have a full suite that protects you better.

First have you been updating your definitions, because if you don't do that then no software will help you. Could it be adware on your computer? you might want to download spy-bot or ad-ware to get rid of that stuff. Or you could try NOD32
