Is anyone here as surprised as i am that Maryland lost the first round game of the Acc tournament to Miami? Here i thought Maryland was on a roll, and were going to do great in the Acc tournament and Ncaa tournament. They proved it in ther last few games on how good they can be. What happened? Was this just a fluke and what does this tell you about them in the Ncaa tournament?

Maryland played poorly and Miami played great. On paper, yes it was a fluke; Maryland beats Duke twice and UNC, then goes on to lose against the "worst" team in the ACC. If you actually watch the game, Miami was clearly the better team that afternoon especially when it came to rebounding. Miami really isn't a bad team. I was hoping that they could have pulled a second upset over BC which they almost did. Anyways, in terms of NCAA seeding, I still think Maryland will get a 6 or 7.

Maryland is still a great team. The ACC tourney (especially this year) is so close that often the team that "shows" up wins. Miami might have been helped by the fact that they didn't have to travel far to the tourney since it was in Florida. The travel could have had an impact on Maryland's preparation and given them time to "look past" Miami and focus on their next game. I think if anything this will fire Maryland up and help them to further tourney success, however the way that Vazquez played is kind of scary. If he plays the "freshman" type game he played today Maryland could be in trouble. Just my thoughts.

No fluke, anything's possible in the ACC. Maryland is a good team (not great) and they will get through the first round of the NCAA Tourney, maybe the second, but no further.

I am totally surprised that Miami beat them....they have been playin excellent the past few weeks, but the traveling could have done them in......when the ACC tourny is in Carolina then Carolina has the advantage....now it is in Florida so let us see Florida gets the advantage! They should be able to come back from this and be stronger in the NCAA cause you know Williams has them practicing up till the NCAA tourny...I hope that they can pull out strong and show these #1 seeds up....specially UNC (since my boyfriend is a UNC fan...total rival between the two of us this season), but it is gonna be up in the air until the tourny....GO TERPS!!!!!!

Its the beauty of a powerhouse league ... Less Wake Forest ... I think any team can win that tourny. If they played it 10 times they might get 10 different winners.
