I had my baby a little over four months ago. The problem is, my rings still won't fit on my fingers!! I had really bad swelling of my feet, ankles and hands all throughout my pregnancy, but the rings I used to wear every single day until I got pregnant still won't fit on my fingers!

My hands look normal now, and I haven't experienced any swelling since about 3 weeks after giving birth. They almost fit, but not quite. Any suggestions or insight would be welcomed. All my old shoes fit my feet and eveything, so I don't know what this could be!

I didn't have pre-eclampsia but I did have premature labor and I had to have an injection of something, dont remember what exactly, but I was on bedrest from 29 weeks on.

I have not lost all the baby weight, so that might be what it is. I haven't lost much of it, yet, I'm still working on it. It's tough, though. Because of the bedrest I put on a lot, I think an extra 30 pounds, and I'm not breastfeeding.

It's normal for your hands and/or feet to grow during a pregnancy. Sometimes they will go back to normal, sometimes they won't. My shoes and rings went up an entire size after having my kids. If you had that much swelling during your pregnancy, did you have pre-eclampsia? (toxemia as it used to be called) If so, havwe you had your blood pressure and urine checked again recently? If you had pre-e, there's a chance it could cause permanent high blood pressure which can cause your fingers to swell. I suggest going back to your doctor for another check-up.

Unfortunately, sometimes pregnancy makes these kind of changes to your body, and they can be permanent. I am dealing with a similar issue. My rings are too big since I had my daughter 9 months ago, but my weight is the same as before. I would wait until your baby is a year old, and if they still don't fit, have them resized. Until then, wear them on a chain around your neck. You can also convince your husband you buy you a mother's ring to wear in their place until then.

Did you lose all of your baby weight? If so you could be retaining water. I had to get my wedding ring sized after giving birth to my twins. After childbirth your body is never quite the same again.

are you breast feeding? because that should suck any extra weight right off of you.
