>>The Mountain Press in Sevierville, Tennessee, The Oakland Press in Michigan and the Lancaster New Era in Pennsylvania said they would stop running Coulter's syndicated column because of the comment she made last week.<<

I think its a good thing but I'm not sure it the reasons are in favor of the LGBT community or in protest to her characterization of John Edwards as homosexual means these publications and their readers still feel somewhat homophobic.

It's a good thing, regardless of the real reasons they dropped her. Hate mongers should not get a hall pass. There is a "whipping up" of anti-gay hatred out there. It's the new acceptable scapegoat group. We need to see it to be the same as the "N" word, get some balls and talk back.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "tide changing", but I don't believe this will phase Ann Coulter or her career in the least. She has taken hits before because of her statements and she always presses on as strong and direct as ever. She's not, nor is she trying to be, the voice of the mainstream.

Why is it that you feel that these papers are "homophobic"? I'm guessing that, in their announcement of cutting ties w/ Coulter that they DIDN'T go the "extra mile" by including pro-gay statements or other pandering proclamations. Can't you just be satisfied with the fact that they dropped her column?

Sometimes it's not worth the trouble to take action against bigotry because those who are "victimized" DEMAND that we coddle them as well!!

The statement it makes is not loud enough. Not until all major media outlets (print and broadcast) drop her will she be affected. This is a minor slap on the wrist compared to what COULD happen. I also agree that these newspapers' decision to drop her is not in support of the GLBT community but rather due to "public" outrage. I remember when my local rag dropped Molly Ivens because she was so anti-Billy Bob Forehead...it didn't stop her from continuing her political satire.

The world today has no room for such intolerance and bigotry. Ann Coulter screwed herself over pandering to a small ever-present crowd of bigots. She deserves everything she gets. Shame on those that perpetuate her "brand" of thinking.

hopefully, the ball will keep rolling and build momentum. this woman is a menace! and I don't think she even cares about bad publicity....and think she just loves it no matter what. I hope everyone follows suit and drops her like a hot potato.. will she learn her lesson and shut her mouth? I'm sure she won't, but at least less people will have to hear it!

It may be changing. Ann Coulter is a chain smoking verbal prostitute, who is constantly spewing hatred and offending people in order to make money. Fortunately her audience is shrinking.
She is basically driven by anger and her time is up.
You can see hatred in her eyes.

I think it is all out of proportion to what she said. I mean he does look like he has a hairdresser working on him 24 hours each day. I agree she should not have said it but I doubt it has hurt Mr. Edwards

I think everybody has a right to their opinion but there's such a thing as voicing that opinion nicely.....evidently nobody taught her about this novel concept.

Maybe her 15 minutes are up.
