When I was cleaning my hamsters cage my brother accidently dropped the water bottle and it cracked and now it's leaking. It still works but the bottom always drips. (Its supposed to only drip when the hamster sucks on it) WHAT SHOULD I DO!

If the water bottle is made out of hard plastic, you can probably turn the broken part away from where your hamster can get to it and try putting some duct tape over the cracked part. This will stop some of the dripping.

You can also get a small bowl and put water in that so the hamster can drink until you can replace the water bottle.

Good luck and have a good night.

just try to make sure your hampster stays hydrated until your dad can get to the store to buy a new water bottle. put a small bowl of some sort under the drip to catch the water and to avoid a huge wet mess.

use a small bowl or spare food dish if you have one for water and change it often because it will get stuff in it from the cage. The hamster will find the water and dring and should be ok for a couple of days that way.

use that until you get a new one. and under the water bottle try to put like a small bowl [small like the food bowl] under it, or paper towels. good luck!

Use it untill you can get another one, and keep checking the water level. I just went through the same thing with my daughters gerbil, Jasmine, and she was just fine. Good Luck !!

buy a new bottle. if the water sits in the cage too long it will get all nasty and stinky in there.
