I looked at playstation.com and they said you could hook up the ps2 wirelessly. I have a linksys wireless router. Is it possible i could possibly hook it up wirelessly? I have no phone lines in my room but I do have a cable. Could I use that? The cable goes right in the wall. I have cable internet.

You can do it wirelessly, however you need to get a wireless connection for your playstation 2. You have the wireless router already, that's fine.
The ps2 online has the ethernet adapter, here's where you would connect your wireless transmitting device.
I don't recommend using wireless connections for gaming as they can become unstable very easily.
If you have the cable internet connection in your room, connect it to a router, then to your ps2. It would be cheaper this way and more reliable/ efficient.
