is america just a scam? hear me out before you get angry....every year...millions upon millions of immigrants, legal and not, come to this country to seek freedom and prosperity. these are the ideals we hold dear. it seems a small segment of the population is basking in all the things we wouldlike to have, while everyone who is really needed to make the country runs lives very modestly, hidden from the world by a curtain. it would seem we live in a fantasy land where people are drawn in with images of hulk hogans fantastic house and the wives of orange counties luxury, only to find a sort of limbo between freedom and slavery, called the lower middle class. its growing segment. am i wrong, or is the country really starting to resemble pre-revolution europe a littlebit,n with the huge gaps between haves and have nots? and if so.....are we going to see the reemergence of the gulliotine?

I could go on and on about this question, but I will sum it up with this:
America is the only land where you reap what you are willing to work for. You have all the freedoms to become anything you want. It depends on how much effort you want to put in to it. The problem is with many today is they envy what they can't have and are too lazy to work for it. There is an overwhelming mindset of entitlement in this country.

I can see your point and I must say that I do agree for the most part except remember the people who "have", typically worked hard to get what the have, of course you see the large group that I like to call the LSC (LUCKY SPERM CLUB) and maybe they did have things handed to them but not with out hard work at some point along the line from past relatives and ancestors. And yes there are those who "don't have" and deserve to "have" but life can be a biotch.
So people work hard for what you want and you will "have" but keep in mind there will always be the have and have nots, but it's your choice as to which group you fall into.

And yet they keep coming. Seriously, most people know that what you see on television is not "common, everyday, real life". That being said, what I don't have in material luxuries isn't missed, I am still able to walk down the street whenever I want, wearing whatever I want, can worship how I want, raise my kids how I want. And, their are millions of men and women fighting to make sure that I can stay that way. Seems like a pretty fine place to me.

As a slave lodged firmly in the lower-middle-class, I can say one thing, I find my life quite enjoyable.
I easily maintain my standard of living with low-stress employment.
The hulks can have their luxury and the payments that come with it. A person that has little and isn't afraid to lose what is there has much power. Money cannot buy me. No amount of money can make me do what I find objectionable.

I think you are way off base. The US is the best country in the world. We have the best form of government, such as it is. There is unlimited wealth. There is unlimited opportunity. Immigrants have come to this country, made billions, then abused this country's greatness: George Soros for example. Bill Gates, in 30 years went from a college drop out to a multi-billionaire so rich he had to quit his job to devote his time to giving his money away.
People come to this country because they have an opportunity to work hard and have their hard work pay off. It has been that way for hundreds of years.

Yeah, but the government cleverly invented NASCAR, pro-wrestling, Jerry Springer, and UFC to provide diversionary entertainment to the masses, to keep their minds off what's really going on.
